The Senator representing Ogun East senatorial district, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his emergence as the new chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government on Sunday in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau.
Otunba Daniel made this know via his official Twitter, where he stated that the Nigerian president’s leadership of the organisation would usher in new economic turnaround for the members.
“Congratulations to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu @officialABAT as he takes over the leadership of ECOWAS. I am certain his leadership will usher in a robust economic turnaround for the bloc and foster deeper unity, trade and security among the West African States in the ECOWAS region,” he wrote.
President Tinubu takes over from the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco Embalo.
The summit is the first international engagement of President Tinubu on the African continent since his swearing-in on May 29, 2023.
