A petition filed by the late musician, Aloba Promise Oladimeji, popularly known as Mohbad, against one SamLarry Elegushi and several others has recently come to light.
Mohbad, who tragically passed away earlier this week, claimed that he was brutally attacked by a group of touts, allegedly led by Elegushi, during a video shoot with fellow artist Zlatan Ibile.

According to the petition, the incident occurred on June 25, 2023, when Mohbad and his team were filming a music video. Mohbad asserted that approximately fifteen touts, armed with dangerous weapons such as guns and cutlasses, assaulted him. The late musician claimed that he was violently attacked, leaving him with no choice but to narrowly escape with his life.
The petition was initially submitted to the police on June 27, 2023, two days after the alleged assault took place. However, no significant progress or updates have been made since its submission. Unfortunately, Mohbad passed away before any action could be taken, raising questions about the handling of his case.
Meanwhile, the Elegushi Royal family has denied any affiliation with the said Samlarry, with claims that his full name, contrary to popular belief, is Samson Erinfolami Balogun.
In a press statement made available to Freelanews, the palace stated that the said Balogun is not a member of the royal family and does not work for the king in any capacity.
“Like other celebrities, politicians, religious and community leaders, he visits the palace to pay homage to the king and seek royal blessings just like other member of the public,” the statement read.
