According to reports from Diario AS, Enzo, who last played for Fuenlabrada in Spain’s third tier, made the decision to step away from the sport to focus on personal matters, including family and investments.
The news was confirmed by sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, who stated, “Zinedine Zidane’s son Enzo has retired from football at the age of 29… He wants to focus on private stuff, including his investments.”
Enzo had a decade-long career that saw him make a total of 203 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 24 assists.
His journey included stints with notable clubs such as Real Madrid Castilla, Alavés, Lausanne, Rayo Majadahonda, Aves, Almeria, and Rodez Aveyron, culminating with Fuenlabrada, where he made 29 appearances.
One of Enzo’s most memorable moments came during his single appearance for Real Madrid’s senior team, where he made a significant impact by scoring on his debut in a 6-1 Copa del Rey victory against Cultural Leonesa.
While Enzo has chosen to retire, his brothers continue to pursue football careers. Luca Zidane is currently the starting goalkeeper for Eibar, Theo Zidane plays midfield for Córdoba in the third tier, and the youngest brother, Elyaz Zidane, has recently joined the Real Betis academy and represents France at the U-17 level.
