In response to the incident, LASWA has launched a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the fire. The investigation will be conducted in close collaboration with LAGFERRY and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that all aspects of the incident are fully examined.

Preliminary findings will guide any necessary updates to safety protocols and fire prevention measures across Lagos’ ferry operations.

LASWA has reassured the public that all safety measures remain in place. Ferry services in the region are continuing as scheduled, and the authority encourages all passengers to follow established safety guidelines while travelling on the waterways.

As the investigation continues, LASWA will provide further updates on the matter. The authority remains committed to ensuring the safety of all ferry users and preventing such incidents in the future.

For more information or inquiries, members of the public can reach LASWA through the official hotline at 0700 CALL LASWA or 08090129777, or follow their social media pages on Instagram/X @talktolaswa.
