Fmr NURTW chieftain heads Oyo State motorpark managers (Video)

The Oyo state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, on Monday, inaugurated the newly appointed Motorpark Managers to oversee the affairs of motor parks in the 33 local government areas of the state.

The brief event which took place at the Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructures and Transportation secretariat, Ibadan, had in attendance the appointed park managers, their treasurers and secretaries.

While inaugurating the motor park managers and its disciplinary committee on behalf of the governor, the State Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transportation, Professor Raphael Afonja, said the appointments take effect immediately.

He noted that the development is a radical change from the NURTW architecture as the funds generated by the motor park managers will be remitted directly into the state account.

The governor also appointed the former chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Oyo State chapter, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, popularly known as Auxiliary, as the chairman, Oyo State motor park disciplinary committee.

In a chat with newsmen, the newly appointed chairman, Oyo State motor park Disciplinary Committee, Alhaji Lamidi, assured the good people of Oyo state a violence free motor park management.

However, the former NURTW leaders in Oyo State threatened the state government on the constitution of the new Motorpark Managers while appealing to religious leaders and the kings to stop the governor from carrying out his plans.
