FCT Police begin investigation into the Ilebaye assault case after detaining her father over alleged domestic violence
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Emmanuel Odiniya following an alleged domestic violence incident involving former Big Brother Naija housemate Ilebaye Odiniya.

The incident, which sparked widespread outrage on social media, occurred during an Instagram livestream on Friday night where Ilebaye was allegedly seen being physically assaulted.
Confirming the development on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Command, Josephine Adeh, said officers responded swiftly after receiving a distress call from Royal Anchor Estate in Wuye, Abuja.
According to Adeh, the police received the report at about midnight and immediately deployed a patrol team from the Wuye Division alongside operatives from the Department of Operations.
Speaking on the Ilebaye assault case, Adeh said the police intervention also involved the presence of the command’s spokesperson at the scene to monitor the operation.
“At about 12:00 a.m., the FCT Police Command responded to a distress call from Royal Anchor Estate, Wuye, Abuja, reporting an ongoing physical assault on Ms. Ilebaye Odiniya Emmanuel by her father, Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya,” the statement read.
The police spokesperson disclosed that Emmanuel Odiniya is currently in custody while investigations continue to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Adeh also confirmed that Ilebaye was taken to the hospital following the alleged assault.
The case has generated intense public reactions online, with many Nigerians demanding justice and stronger protection against domestic violence and abuse.
