Nigerian streamer Peller publicly praised Nollywood actress Funke Akindele for supporting him during his 2025 arrest, with fans hailing her kindness

Nigerian streamer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, publicly praised Nollywood actress Funke Akindele for supporting him during a challenging period in 2025.

The incident occurred after Peller was involved in an accident and subsequently arrested following an emotional breakdown linked to his relationship with his partner, Jarvis.

During the event, Peller recounted how Akindele stood by him, offering emotional and practical support while he navigated the aftermath of the arrest.

Fans responded warmly to Peller’s revelation, praising Akindele for her generosity and compassion.

Many even gave the actress new nicknames reflecting her helpful nature, with one fan calling her “Iyalode gbogbo industry”, noting her “extraordinary uncommon grace” and consistent acts of kindness.

Funke Akindele reacted modestly to Peller’s praise, trying to stop him from revealing too much. She prayed for him, encouraged him, and hugged him as the audience looked on.

This is not the first time Akindele has quietly helped colleagues. She previously gifted an iPhone to Iyabo Ojo after a joke at an event, fulfilling her promise publicly. Similarly, skit maker and actor Kamo highlighted Akindele’s support during his wedding and attempts to start a family.
