The Department of Physiotherapy, College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL) inducted 42 fresh graduates for the 2019/2020 sessions, ten of them received first-class degrees.
The event, which took place on Saturday, at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Idi Araba, was attended by guests, including Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Dr. Omobolaji Gaji and Registrar, Medical Rehabilitation Board of Nigeria, Dr. Olufunke Akanle. Delivering the convocation speech, the Provost, CMUL, Prof. David Adewale Oke, said:
“Today, we are inducting 42 members into the physiotherapy profession from the foremost college of medicine of the university of first choice and nation’s pride, the University of Lagos.
Your being inducted today is the first reward you get for your hard work, perseverance and resilience in the face of the challenges you experienced throughout your study in the college.
We celebrate you all for your excellent performance and it is gratifying to note that in this set, 10 persons graduated with distinction.”
The 10 that graduated with distinction include, Okafor Praise Chineye, who emerged best overall graduating student and best student in research project; Onyesoro Glory Onyinye-Bukola, who was second best graduating student; and Akanlabi Oluwaseun Iyaruoluwa, who emerged the third best. Ekeh Margaret also received the award of the best student in physiotherapy clinical practice.
