The popular socialite and Borokini of Ejigbo/Ijanland, Otunba Olumide Abegunde, today added another year to his age on earth.
Otunba Abegunde is a philanthropist, who has spent many years in the social circle shuffling between United Kingdom and Nigeria before silently settling down to a life away from the limelight.
He is reputed in some quarters to have been one of those responsible for the popular Fuji entertainer’s comfortable stay and easy sojourn to the United Kingdom during the latter’s first attempt at traveling and plying his musical trade abroad.
Borokini has been severally praised by popular musicians in Nigeria and beyond for his humanity services and large heartedness. The likes of Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, Pasuma and more had once waxed records in his praise.
He had through Team Jandor sponsored several humanitarian projects, one of which was free digital training for the youths in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government and Ejigbo Local Council Development Area.
He is a native of Emure Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria; a town made popular in the USA after the king of Emure’s grandson, Adewale Ogunleye, made it into the NFL for the Chicago Bears.
No wonder the town is one of the more prosperous towns in Ekiti as it parades several illustrious sons and daughters doing well all over the world.
His wife, Yeye Borokini of Ejigbo/Ijanland, Yeye Olaitan Abegunde, told Freelanews that she was grateful to God for the gift of life and prosperity bestowed on her husband.
