Ojoon of Ejigbo and Ijan land, Oba Morufu Adisa Adekunle Ojoola, has felicitated with the high chiefs of the kingdom and Christians in general over the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
The commemoration of the event, which is also celebrated as Christmas, is an international event celebrated annually around the world.
In a release shared with Freelanews, the monarch stated that Christ’s birth epitomises peace and purity and therefore enjoined Nigerians to stay pure during this period and seek peace at all times.
“The reasons for the season can’t be overemphasised enough but above all, some of those things that the birth of Jesus Christ stands for is peace and pureness of hearts.
“As Christians, believers should always ensure that the peaceful co-existence in the country is your watchword while pursuing your services to your creator in purity.
“And before, during and after the general elections next year, we shall not experience war,” Oba Ojoola said.
The king also used the opportunity to appreciate his chiefs for their selfless contributions to the success of his reign.
“As the kingdom prepare for 25years coronation anniversary, which is coming up next year, I’ll like to appreciate my chiefs for their supports to the throne. May the gods of our fathers continue to abide with us and make Ejigbo Ijan land continue to prosper.
“My special appreciation also goes to the state government, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his commissioners for ensuring the peace in the state. Nitori irorun igi, ni irorun eye.”
