In his goodwill message, the Director General of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership (NCSP), Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, reflected on the spiritual significance of the festival, drawing inspiration from Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) obedience and devotion.
He urged all Nigerians to embrace the spirit of sacrifice and compassion as guiding principles for national unity and shared development.
“Eid al-Kabir reminds us of what it means to give selflessly, to believe in something greater than ourselves, and to put others before personal gain,” Tegbe stated.
“These same ideals form the bedrock of our strategic partnerships, especially our deepening relationship with the People’s Republic of China.”
Tegbe praised the contributions of Muslims in Nigeria and China to fostering mutual understanding and prosperity between the two nations.
Under his leadership, the NCSP continues to promote collaboration across key sectors such as green energy, agriculture, the blue economy, infrastructure, education, and technology—aligning closely with Nigeria’s development agenda and China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
“Our strategic vision is rooted in mutual respect and progress,” he added. “As we build bridges between Nigeria and China, we are also creating new pathways for trade, innovation, and human capital development, especially for young Nigerians.”
Tegbe reaffirmed the NCSP’s commitment to youth empowerment through scholarships, academic partnerships, and skills exchange programmes, recognising young people as the future of diplomacy, innovation, and economic transformation.
“This sacred season invites us to reflect on what binds us as a people,” he concluded. “May it also inspire us to keep strengthening the bonds that unite nations through cooperation, trust, and shared purpose.”
