JT Atta Thaddeus defection rumours dismissed as the politician denies any link or planned move to another party

JT Atta Thaddeus has dismissed reports alleging that he once defected or attempted to defect to another political party, describing the claims as false, misleading and malicious.

In a statement released on Sunday, the politician said he had never maintained any political affiliation with the party mentioned in the circulating reports and insisted that the allegations were entirely fabricated.

“It has come to my attention that false claims are being circulated alleging that I once decamped, or attempted to decamp, to a political party I have never had any affiliation with politically,” Thaddeus stated.

“This is completely false, unfounded, misleading and indeed malicious.”

The JT Atta Thaddeus defection rumours emerged amid heightened political discussions and realignments ahead of future electoral activities in parts of the country.

Thaddeus maintained that the reports were designed to create confusion about his political stance and loyalty.

The politician did not identify those responsible for spreading the claims but stressed that the public should disregard the reports entirely.

Political observers note that rumours surrounding defections and party movements have become increasingly common in Nigeria’s political landscape, particularly during periods of internal party negotiations and coalition discussions.

Supporters of the politician also took to social media to defend him, describing the reports as an attempt to damage his credibility and create unnecessary controversy.

At the time of filing this report, no evidence had emerged publicly to support the allegations of defection or planned political realignment involving Thaddeus.
