Lagos APC mourns Dr. Oluwafemi Adefulire, son of Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, who died in Dubai after surgery

Dr. Oluwafemi Olawale Adefulire, the only son of former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, has passed away. The family confirmed the tragic development on Thursday.

The deceased, who was based in the United Kingdom, reportedly died in the early hours of Wednesday in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, following a surgical procedure. He is survived by his wife and children.

Reacting to the incident, Lagos APC Publicity Secretary, Mr Seye Oladejo, described the loss as devastating for both the family and the political community in Lagos. “It’s sadly true, the kind of tragedy every parent dreads.

The APC is heartbroken. Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire is an exceptionally good person, and the entire party structure has been thrown into mourning by this huge tragedy. May his precious soul rest in peace,” Oladejo said.

Princess Orelope-Adefulire served as Lagos State Deputy Governor from 2011 to 2015 under former Governor Babatunde Fashola. She currently serves as Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a role she previously held under former President Muhammadu Buhari before her reappointment in September 2023.
