Larry Hoover Life Sentence: Fawaz Abdulkareem jailed for life in the UK after being convicted of murdering Daniel Manuel in London
Fawaz Abdulkareem, popularly known as “Larry Hoover”, was sentenced to life imprisonment by a United Kingdom court on Friday after being convicted of the murder of 32-year-old Daniel Manuel in London.

The sentence was handed down at Croydon Crown Court on June 5, 2026, nearly a year after Abdulkareem fatally stabbed Manuel during an argument over money at an apartment in Bondway, Southwark, on July 5, 2025.
Prosecutors told the court that Abdulkareem and Manuel had spent the night at a nightclub before returning to Abdulkareem’s flat with friends. An altercation later broke out between the two men, culminating in the deadly attack.
Investigators said Abdulkareem stabbed Manuel three times during the confrontation, inflicting fatal injuries.
Following the killing, detectives alleged that Abdulkareem attempted to conceal evidence by disguising the murder weapon before throwing the knife from a 14th-floor window.
Police later recovered the weapon and launched a detailed investigation that ultimately led to his prosecution.
During the trial, Abdulkareem claimed he had acted in self-defence. However, investigators and prosecutors challenged that account, and the jury unanimously rejected the argument.
The jury at Croydon Crown Court found the 36-year-old guilty of murder and possession of a bladed article.
Under the sentence, Abdulkareem will serve life imprisonment and must spend a minimum of 17 years behind bars before becoming eligible for parole consideration.
The Larry Hoover Life Sentence case drew an emotional response from the victim’s family, particularly Daniel Manuel’s wife, Zulal, who described her husband as her “partner, home, and emotional safety.”
In a victim impact statement presented to the court, Zulal said Manuel’s violent death had devastated her life and left an irreplaceable void.
The case highlights the severe consequences of knife-related violence, which remains a significant concern for law enforcement authorities across parts of the United Kingdom.
