Appointed in September 2022, the globally acclaimed scientist has propelled LASUSTECH into a new era of growth, transparency, and international relevance.
At the core of this transformation is the university’s IMPACT Vision—a six-pronged strategy aimed at boosting infrastructure, manpower, productivity, academic quality, state alignment, and entrepreneurial partnerships.
This vision reflects in the university’s robust academic offerings, seamless operations, and uninterrupted calendar. With 41 programmes already active, LASUSTECH is on course to graduate its pioneer students in 2026.
“Our goal is clear: to build a university that not only competes globally but sets the pace for innovation and societal transformation,” said Prof. Odusanya.
The university has also secured significant infrastructural investments. TETFund projects such as a central research lab, professorial building, and university auditorium are in progress.
Lagos State is supporting a 750-capacity auditorium and student arcade, while other institutions like the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila have contributed major buildings to the Surulere campus.
On the academic front, LASUSTECH maintains a steady focus on entrepreneurship, producing students who are already winning national competitions and excelling in innovation.
The Hackathon 2025 victory and the NFVCB 2024 win are testaments to the university’s rising reputation.
International collaborations are thriving, with MoUs signed with Kumasi Technical University and Akenten Appiah University in Ghana.
Tech partnerships with SAIL Innovation Lab, Huawei, and Dataphyte give students access to modern skills aligned with industry trends.
LASUSTECH’s research agenda is flourishing as well. Several lecturers have accessed institutional and national research grants, and the university has gained global recognition through listings in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking and World University Ranking.
Its social impact remains strong, with community outreach that includes food distribution and skills training for Lambo Lasuwon residents.
The university also ensures its staff welfare is prioritised, offering health insurance, medical grants, car loans, and prompt payment of bonuses.
Programmes such as Mass Communication, Estate Management, Insurance, and Banking & Finance have earned full professional accreditation.
The university’s strategic linkages enable graduates to transition easily into professional practice, further solidifying its position as a future-ready institution.
Despite recent attempts to discredit his administration through misinformation and leaked documents, Professor Odusanya remains focused.
“These distractions will not deter us; we are focused on positioning LASUSTECH for global recognition,” he affirmed.
As the university celebrates International Workers’ Day, the mid-term stewardship of Professor Odusanya stands as a model of transformative leadership.
