Senator representing Ogun East and former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Engr. Gbenga Daniel, has extended warm congratulations to His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, Ogbagba II, GCON, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, in celebration of his longstanding and impactful reign.
In a message marked by deep respect and cultural reverence, Senator Daniel praised the monarch’s decades-long dedication to unity, peace, and the advancement of Ijebuland.
“Your Majesty’s reign has stood the test of time—defined by vision, wisdom, and a consistent drive for the upliftment of our people,” he said.
The Senator highlighted the monarch’s steady leadership as instrumental in preserving the heritage of the Ijebu people while fostering development and harmony throughout the region.
As conversations around the possible creation of a new state from the historic Ijebu Province gather momentum, Senator Daniel noted that the monarch’s firm leadership continues to inspire collective hope and progress.
“We look ahead with optimism and prayer as we support the noble aspiration for a new Ijebu State—rooted in a legacy of honour and self-determination.”
The Senator, who also holds the traditional title of Otunba Obalofin of Ijebuland, further commended the 88 Regberegbe age-grade groups, as well as the Giwas and Iyalodes who play key roles in maintaining the cultural fabric of the land.
“To all our Regberegbes, I say well done. Your energy and loyalty to Ijebuland’s values are deeply appreciated. You remain the heartbeat of our cultural celebrations.”
Senator Daniel concluded by praying for continued strength and good health for the revered monarch and encouraged all sons and daughters of Ijebuland to remain united in building a future anchored in tradition and pride.
