Nasarawa kidnapping suspects were arrested after a joint police operation recovered AK-47 rifles and motorcycles in Rukubi community
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested eight suspected kidnappers following a coordinated security operation in Rukubi Community, Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The force disclosed the arrests in a statement issued on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Placid.
According to the statement, the operation was launched after police received a distress report in the early hours of May 7 over an attack allegedly carried out by armed hoodlums in the community on the night of May 6.
The police said the attackers stormed the area, “shooting sporadically and causing panic among residents,” before abducting two persons from separate homes to an unknown location.
Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command, working alongside other security agencies and local youths, immediately began coordinated searches and tactical operations across the community.
The crackdown led to the arrest of eight suspects linked to the incident. The suspects were identified as Adamu Alfa, Muhammed Alfa, Shuaibu Alfa, Usman Alfa, Ali Alfa, Isa Alfa, Adamu Alfa, and Ja’afaru Alfa, all reportedly from Rugan Alhaji Alfa in Rukubi Village.
Police operatives also recovered two AK-47 rifles, four Bajaj motorcycles and two expended 7.62mm ammunition shells believed to be connected to the attack.
The statement further disclosed that one of the suspects sustained fatal injuries during the operation and later died while receiving treatment.
Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu commended officers involved in the mission, describing the operation as a powerful example of effective intelligence-led policing and inter-agency cooperation.
The police chief also praised the support provided by local vigilante groups, community youths and residents, saying their cooperation played a critical role in the success of the operation.

The latest arrests come amid intensified efforts by security agencies to tackle kidnapping and violent crime across several parts of Nigeria.
