Nathi Mthethwa has died tragically after falling from a hotel window in Paris, shocking South Africa and the international diplomatic community.

The ambassador was reported missing by his wife after she received a message in which he apologised and expressed an intent to take his own life.
Hours later, his body was found at the foot of the Hyatt Regency Paris Étoile Hotel, where he was staying.
Prosecutors stated that investigators discovered a window safety mechanism had been forced open in Mthethwa’s room.

Mthethwa was a prominent advocate for the Palestinian cause, with numerous videos of him publicly supporting Palestine circulating widely.
