Among the most notable is veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo, who returned to university years after establishing himself in the film industry.

He initially studied Philosophy at the University of Lagos before pursuing his long-held ambition in Law at the University of Abuja, eventually being called to the bar in 2020.

Kanayo O. Kanayo’s academic pursuit has often been cited as an example of persistence, as he balanced his entertainment career with formal education at an advanced stage in life.

In a similar vein, comedian and academic Afeez Oyetoro, popularly known as Saka, also advanced his studies while maintaining his acting and lecturing careers.

He earned a doctorate in Theatre Arts at the age of 61, reinforcing his commitment to education alongside entertainment.

Actor and comedian Bolaji Amusan, widely known as Mr Latin, also returned to school later in life.

These stories highlight a growing culture within Nigeria’s entertainment industry where education is increasingly seen as a continuous journey rather than a fixed stage in life.

For many of these celebrities, returning to school represents personal fulfilment, intellectual growth, and a desire to challenge long-held stereotypes about entertainers and education.

Their achievements continue to inspire fans and younger entertainers, showing that success in the creative industry does not limit academic ambition.
