Prepare for a powerful exploration of love, conflict, and societal expectations as Nollywood producer Mobolaji Tolani Oludele popularly known as Mobolaji Samuel is set to release her debut movie titled “Ibitayo.”

Ibitayo, slated to be released on October 20th, 2019, dives into the complex dynamics of a seemingly perfect marriage thrown into turmoil by the ever-present issue of gender inequality.

Ibitayo and his wife, revered figures in their community, initially embody marital bliss. But their fairytale unravels as deeply ingrained beliefs about gender roles clash, igniting a bitter struggle that shakes their love and challenges societal norms.

“Ibitayo” offers a nuanced and thought-provoking look at this crucial social issue through the lens of a compelling narrative. Acclaimed actors Bukumi Oluwashina and Ayo Olaiya deliver captivating performances as the couple battling to reconcile their individual perspectives, while Jumoke Odetola, Ibrahim Chatta, and the legendary Madam Saje add depth and dimension to the supporting cast.

“This film is not just about a personal battle within a marriage,” says producer Mobolaji Samuel. “It’s a mirror reflecting the broader societal conversations we need to have about gender equality and understanding divergent viewpoints.”

When asked what the viewers should expect from “Ibitayo”, Mobolaji Samuel said, “Ibitayo is a timely and relevant exploration of gender dynamics, the film delves into a crucial social issue, offering a fresh perspective on contemporary marital struggles and sparking important conversations.”

“Expect powerful performances by a renowned cast such as Bukumi Oluwashina, Ibrahim Chatter, and a stellar supporting cast bring the characters to life with raw emotion and authenticity” she added.

“Ibitayo” explores a thought-provoking narrative that challenges societal norms and prompts viewers to question their own perspectives on gender roles and relationships.
