Lagos Speaker Obasa praises workers as key drivers of economic success, hailing their sacrifices during Workers’ Day celebrations
The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Obasa, on Thursday, May 1, 2026, in Lagos, commended workers across the state and Nigeria, describing them as the backbone of economic development during the International Workers’ Day celebration.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Dave Agboola, Mudashiru Obasa praised the resilience and dedication of workers, noting that their efforts remain central to the sustained growth of Lagos State.
Obasa said the progress recorded in Lagos over the years would not have been possible without the commitment of its workforce.
He stressed that workers continue to play a vital role in building a stable and productive economy.
The Speaker also acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for recent policy measures aimed at improving workers’ welfare, including salary adjustments and other support initiatives. He described the interventions as timely and impactful.
Mudashiru Obasa further stated that the Lagos State House of Assembly remains committed to laws that protect workers’ rights and enhance their welfare.
He assured that the legislature would continue to support policies that promote sustainable growth.
He encouraged workers to remain dedicated and hopeful, adding that their contributions are essential to shaping a stronger future for Lagos State and Nigeria.
