Police authorities disclosed that the suspects were apprehended by operatives conducting surveillance and anti-crime patrols aimed at curbing robbery and related offences across strategic locations in Ogun State.
According to the command, the arrest followed intelligence reports and growing complaints from residents over the activities of suspected criminals operating under the guise of commercial transportation.
The police said preliminary investigations linked the suspects to alleged one-chance robbery operations targeting unsuspecting passengers within the Obantoko axis and adjoining communities.
Security operatives reportedly recovered items believed to be connected to the criminal activities during the operation, while further investigations are ongoing to identify possible accomplices and victims.
The Ogun State Police Command described the arrest as a significant breakthrough in its ongoing crackdown on violent and organised crimes within the state.
Police authorities also reassured residents that surveillance, stop-and-search operations and intelligence-driven patrols would continue across major roads and communities to strengthen public safety.
The command urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station.
