The Nigerian police have issued an update regarding the ongoing investigation into the alleged murder of renowned rapper and singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Mohbad, aged 27, tragically passed away after receiving treatment for an infection from an unlicensed nurse, leading to his hasty burial. Suspicions of foul play arose, prompting authorities to exhume his body on 21st September 2023.
In a recent development, the Force Public Relations Officer, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has shed light on the investigation’s progress.
Adejobi disclosed that the Lagos State government has initiated a coroner inquest, with the awaited toxicology results crucial to the case.
“The matter is currently under the jurisdiction of the state government, awaiting the toxicology report. The Lagos State government has convened a coroner inquest. Let’s await the results; the state authorities will provide further updates to the public,” announced Adejobi.
The late songwriter was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records and left the label in 2022. He was best known for his hit songs “Ponmo,” “Peace,” “Beast and Peace,” “Sorry”, “Feel Good,” and “KPK (Ko Por Ke)” (You Will Always Be Remembered) with Rexxie, which was nominated three times for The Headies awards 2022.
