The development came five days after Portable was ordered to be held in prison custody, with reports indicating that his first wife, Omobewaji, delivered the baby during the period of his detention.
Portable was arraigned on Monday, January 12, 2026, before the Federal High Court on a nine count criminal charge.
The presiding judge declined to grant him bail at the time, citing the absence of the police officer who was allegedly assaulted by the musician and was expected to testify in court.
Following the bail ruling, the court ordered that the singer be remanded in custody and adjourned the case to January 19, 2026, for the consideration of his bail application.
Sources familiar with the matter said news of the birth was later conveyed to the singer in prison, where he reportedly received it with visible excitement.
According to the sources, Portable expressed a strong desire to regain his freedom in order to see his newborn child for the first time, describing the moment as emotionally powerful despite his current circumstances.
Portable’s legal troubles are linked to an earlier incident involving one of his wives, Ashabi Simple, during which he is alleged to have assaulted a police officer.
