[dropcap]P[/dropcap]rincess Bridget Adetope Tychus, a prominent figure from Lagos, Nigeria, has been elected to serve a two-year term as an international director of Lions International for Africa.

The announcement was made during the 106th International Convention of the association, held from 21st to 25th June 2024 in Melbourne, Australia.

This marks a significant milestone in Princess Tychus’s distinguished career and her long-standing commitment to Lions International.

As an executive leader with extensive experience, Princess Tychus has successfully collaborated with key stakeholders across various sectors, including media, government, corporate businesses, and non-profit organisations, particularly within the oil and gas industry.

In her current role on the Board of Directors at Apex Tech Incorporated, she focuses on strategic planning, emerging market penetration, and leadership training and orientation.

Her expertise and vision have made a considerable impact in these areas, reinforcing her reputation as a transformative leader.

Princess Tychus’s journey with Lions International began in 1983 when she joined the Satellite Central Lioness Club. Her commitment to the organisation has only deepened over the years.

Since 2011, she has been an active member of the Lagos Ikeja Viva Lamour Lions Club, where she has held numerous leadership positions, including club president, council chairperson, and Nigerian Lions’ Charity Foundation Chairman.

Her roles have also extended to serving on the Board of Trustees, acting as the LCIF Campaign Sight First coordinator, and leading Global Action Team initiatives as a Global Service Team area leader and Global Membership Team area leader.

Additionally, she is a Lions International Certified Instructor (LCIP) and played a pivotal role in hosting Nigeria’s first leadership institute in 2003-2004.

Throughout her tenure, Princess Tychus has received numerous accolades in recognition of her service and dedication.

Among these are the Club President Award, Best Club Secretary Award, Zone/Region Chairperson Award, International President’s Award, Membership Growth Award, and the 100% District Governor’s Award.

She is not only a leader but also a lifelong learner and global citizen. She is a prolific reader and a world traveller, and she holds the highest honour as a Knight of John Wesley in the Methodist Church Nigeria.

Her dedication to service extends beyond her professional life, as she has continuously demonstrated a deep commitment to her community and to Lions International’s mission.

Princess Tychus, along with her husband, Sir Adesina Tychus, who is a Past Zone Chair, has been a strong force within her family and her career.

Married since December 1977, they have three children, their spouses, and nine grandchildren, all of whom continue to support her in her endeavours.

The Association of Lions Clubs was founded in 1917 by Melvin Jones in Chicago, Illinois, and has since grown into an international organisation dedicated to community service and humanitarian efforts.
