According to the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, the prophetess was arrested after the deceased’s brother reported the situation to the police.
Odunlami confirmed that Adekola is now in custody and that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.
A family source shared with press that a church member informed the deceased’s husband of the birth, but when he and a relative arrived at the church, they found Adesuwa bleeding heavily.
Though they rushed her to several hospitals, three rejected her due to her severe condition. She ultimately passed away during resuscitation attempts at the last hospital.
Adding to the family’s distress, they later found the baby’s remains in a church room unfit for medical procedures, raising further questions about the circumstances of the delivery.
The tragic incident has sparked a police investigation, with the deceased’s body now held at a local mortuary as authorities continue to examine the prophetess’s involvement in the deaths.
