Rite Foods MD, Seleem Adegunwa emerges Industrialist of the Year

Seleem Adegunwa wins Industrialist of the Year award for leadership and innovation driving Rite Foods’ growth in Nigeria’s FMCG sector

The Managing Director of Rite Foods Limited, Seleem Adegunwa, was named Industrialist of the Year by Vanguard Media Limited in Lagos on Friday, 24 April 2026, in recognition of his leadership and the company’s impact on Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods sector.

The award was presented at a ceremony held at the Convention Centre of Eko Hotel and Suites, drawing business leaders, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.

The event underscored the growing influence of indigenous companies within the national economy.

Adegunwa’s recognition reflects a period of sustained growth at Rite Foods, where strategic direction has focused on innovation, product quality, and market expansion.

The company has challenged established players and introduced new standards in product development and consumer engagement.

Speaking at the event, Vanguard Editor Eze Anaba commended Adegunwa for driving expansion and strengthening distribution networks nationwide.

Eze Anaba noted that the company’s operations have created jobs across production, logistics, and retail value chains.

The honour coincided with the global observance of World Creativity and Innovation Day, themed “Recreating Tomorrow Today”, a principle reflected in the company’s operations and long-term strategy.

Receiving the award on behalf of the managing director, Rite Foods’ Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Ekuma Eze, described the recognition as a validation of the company’s commitment to excellence.

Ekuma Eze stated that the firm remains focused on delivering products that meet evolving consumer needs while maintaining competitive standards.

Rite Foods has expanded its market presence through brands such as Bigi carbonated drinks, Fearless Energy Drink, and Sosa Fruit Drink, each contributing to shifting consumer preferences within the FMCG space.

The company’s investment in manufacturing and branding has positioned it as a strong competitor in the sector.

Beyond product development, the firm has maintained visibility through entertainment partnerships, including sponsorship of the television show Nigerian Idol, supporting talent development and audience engagement.

Industry observers view the recognition as a strong endorsement of local enterprise, as companies like Rite Foods continue to scale operations and influence market direction through innovation and strategic execution.
