The conference with the theme ‘Aviation Industry: Changing Times, Changing Strategies’will hold on July 27, 2023, in Lagos.

A statement signed by the Secretary of Planning Committee, LAAC Conference, Mr Albinus Chiedu, said “The theme of this year’s conference was informed by the emerging changes in approach to aviation business as regards technology, airline management and operations, financing and other aspects of the aviation industry. The programme will feature presentations by speakers and a panel session to address issues bedevilling the sector in line with the theme.”

He disclosed that the Director-General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, Prof. Mansur Matazu would chair the conference.

According to him, Matazu was selected based on his wealth of experience and the quality leadership he has displayed

He stated that Matazu’s experience as the chairman of the conference would be utilized well, as he was re-elected to serve in the Executive Council of the World Meteorological Organisation during the recently held 19th World Meteorological Congress.

“Matazu before his re-election into the executive council of WMO has been a member of the executive council since his assumption of office as the Director-General of Nimet and he has been recognised for his commitment and dedication to science, meteorology and to humanity.

“His agency, NiMET has in recent years, provided consistent weather information services to various sectors of Nigeria’s economy, including the aviation industry,” the statement read.

Also, Chiedu stated that the Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Capt. Musa Nuhu, would deliver the keynote address at the conference, while other key players in the industry had also confirmed their participation.
