In a thrilling final in Rabat on Friday night, the Super Falcons overturned a 2-0 halftime deficit to defeat host nation Morocco 3-2 a remarkable comeback they proudly dubbed #MissionX.
With pressure mounting and the crowd roaring, Esther Okoronkwo ignited Nigeria’s charge in the 64th minute with a cool finish that made it 2-1.
Just minutes later, Okoronkwo danced past Moroccan defenders to set up Folashade Ijamilusi, who leveled the score at 2-2.
As the match neared its dramatic end, substitute Jennifer Echegini delivered a moment of brilliance, finishing from a long-range freekick by Okoronkwo in the 88th minute to seal the victory.
