The Nigerian singer, whose real name is Gabriel Oche Amanyi, made the statement in reaction to widespread rumours that he had died.
In a video shared on his social media page, the artist clarified that he is alive and well, urging the public to ignore the false reports of his death.
“My phone has been buzzing since morning. People have been calling to check up on me. They saw something online about my R.I.P., saying Terry G don die.
I came to clear your conscience,” he said. “Whoever is trending that news, stop it. I’m doing very fine.”
Terry G also addressed clips circulating from his appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, where he said he was not a gospel singer and that his music did not glorify God.
“In that video, I said I’ve fallen short of the glory of God. I’m not a gospel musician. I’m a secular artist. I sing for the devil that’s my business,” he stated, adding that people should already be aware of his artistic stance.
The post, however, triggered a wave of mixed reactions across social media before he deleted it. Many fans expressed concern, while others dismissed the statement as typical of the singer’s unpredictable style.
