‘Towards 2023’ Real reasons Fayose plans to hand over SW PDP to Tinubu, Adeleke alleges

Fayose greets Tinubu

In what looked like a former governor waging war against his party, People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Ayodele Fayose has recently been trending either for the right and wrong reasons.

A few weeks ago, there was a war of words between Ayodele Fayose and one of PDP’s pioneering elders, Chief Bode George, and now Fayose seemed to be taking on the whole of the South West PDP leadership and their appointed leader Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.

This has drawn the ire of PDP members across the State, who have condemned Ayo Fayose and wanted him reprimanded for going against his own party.

In a statement issued by the South West PDP, Fayose was accused of anti-party activities and the National Chairman, Uche Secondus, of the party was called upon to put Fayose in order and discipline him for his activities lately.

Nevertheless, Fayose has carried on working on his own and forming his own clique by gathering a few PDP chairmen, who he took to the National Chairman, for his agenda. He was seen taking pictures with them at the national party secretariat in Abuja.

Not only that, Fayose has also issued a warning to Governor Seyi Makinde to stop acting as leader of the Yoruba PDP beyond Oyo State, stating:

“I will deal with him squarely, if he comes to my state.”

The question on everybody’s mind has been, what really does Fayose need this motley group of mutinous men for? And why is he after Seyi Makinde, a respected, responsible politician?

Some members of the PDP have been speaking up in anger and want Fayose to be stopped now before he causes grave harm to the party.

One of such men is PDP Stalwart and Chairman of the Oyo Pace Setter Transport Company, Mr Dare Adeleke.

Adeleke, who has been miffed with Fayose, accused him of ingratitude towards his erstwhile political benefactor, Chief Bode George. Adeleke has consistently accused Fayose of being nothing but a mole in the PDP, planted to destabilize the party in the activities leading to the 2023 presidential elections.

According to Adeleke:

“It is not a hidden fact that Fayose has been on the payroll of one of APC’s founders and national leader, Chief Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Fayose has completely sold out and his insistent on leading his faction of disgruntled PDP South West members to pursue the Yoruba agenda in Tinubu’s interest come 2023”

Adeleke also said Fayose has not hidden his mission as he was captured in a video recently, rooting for Tinubu.

“It is actually unacceptable that Fayose has sold out so cheaply. It is not surprising though because that is his usual behaviour. We all remember what he did to former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, before he was unceremoniously booted out of the Ekiti Government house then. He repeated his treachery with Bode George, a man who sponsored his election twice. Now he wants to take on Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, a man of impeccable character, who the party has elected as the leader of the South West PDP.

“Can you imagine Fayose issuing threats like a common thug that he will deal with Governor Makinde squarely? What sort of violent mind is that? Makinde bests ten of him and Seyi Makinde is the appointed leader of the PDP South West, period. We dare Fayose to do his worst. You can now see that what Fayose really wants is to be the custodian of the Yoruba Agenda for 2023 so he can sell out the whole of the South West to Tinubu. That will not happen, he thinks he can weaken the PDP structure to get his aim but that will not happen; we will resist and checkmate this his unhealthy ambition”.

Why is Fayose working against his party, a platform on which he became governor twice?

Adeleke proffered:

“Fayose is a known ingrate and a rabble rouser. Beyond that, the man has a fraud case against him and it was Bola Tinubu who prevailed on the former Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, to whittle down the case and maybe hide the files for now. Those files can be dusted and used against him again, so Fayose is fighting tooth and nail to be in the good books of the APC, especially Tinubu, who still wields a lot of influence in the APC and the presidency. Tinubu may also be depending on Fayose to deliver the South West in 2023 but the South West PDP has checkmated that inglorious ambition by appointing a man of formidable achievements and impeccable integrity, Gov Seyi Makinde, as their leader. Taking those disgruntled chairmen which included the current Chairman of Lagos PDP, Mr. Deji Doherty, who was opposition to Bode George’s candidate for the Lagos Chairmanship position, to pledge support for Uche Secondus, is indeed a laughable act of desperation and Secondus must be very wary of Ayo Fayose and his treacherous tendencies.”

Dare Adeleke then called on the National Chairman to put a check to Fayose’s excesses and anti party activities lately.

“Our National Chairman must call this Fayose man to order before he does more damage to the PDP, especially now that we are gaining more grounds and having cohesion within party ranks. Fayose must not be allowed to factionalise the South West PDP,” he emphasised.
