Toyin Abraham’s debut film “Oversabi Aunty” grosses N1bn. Actress thanks fans and promises more classic Nollywood movies

Actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has achieved a historic milestone, as her debut movie, Oversabi Aunty, grossed N1 billion at cinemas nationwide.

The achievement makes Abraham the first Nollywood director to reach such a landmark with a debut film.

Speaking publicly about the accomplishment, Abraham revealed that she was emotional and initially struggled to record a thank-you message for her fans, known affectionately as the “Toyin Titans.”

She promised to share a proper message soon to express her gratitude.

In a heartfelt note, Abraham said, “Dear Toyin Titans and Esteemed Fans, today I sincerely thank you for standing by me through challenging times and for your steadfast support of my projects. Your loyalty, encouragement, and belief mean the world to me.”

She further committed to delivering more timeless, globally competitive movies and pledged to engage more actively with her fans.

Abraham also highlighted plans to connect with her Canadian audience, promising celebrations and meaningful interactions.

The blockbuster success of Oversabi Aunty underscores Abraham’s growing influence in Nollywood and sets a new benchmark for first-time directors in the industry.

Industry insiders note that the milestone reflects both the actress’s star power and the strong support of her dedicated fanbase.
