The Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 12 Composite Brigade, Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi, disclosed the development in a statement released late Tuesday.

According to him, troops made contact with the suspected criminals during the November 2 operation before launching a follow-up mission to track fleeing suspects and clear remaining hideouts.

Items recovered during the operation included two AK-47 rifles, seven magazines, 438 rounds of 7.62mm x 54 ammunition and 4,725 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

The Army said the operation consolidated the gains recorded during the previous day’s raid and demonstrated the brigade’s determination to sustain pressure on criminal groups operating within its area of responsibility.

It added that troops had continued to dominate the general area, with their morale and operational efficiency remaining high.

The 12 Composite Brigade has also been working alongside the Kogi State Police Command and other security agencies to tackle kidnapping in parts of the state.
