The Inspector-general of police, Usman Baba has revealed displeasure over raid on Mary Odili, a supreme court judge, says it is an unfortunate incident.
Recall some security operatives stormed Odili’s residence on Friday over allegations of illegal activities.
However, the documents pertaining to the warrant to search Odili’s house has been revealed to have bore a wrong address.
The search warrant was given to one Lawrence Ajodo, who was listed as a chief superintendent of police and a member of the ministry of justice’s asset tax recovery panel.
According to the paper, the panel is made up of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and the Ministry of Justice.
Abubakar Malami, minister of justice, and Abdulrasheed Bawa, EFCC chairman, have both denied authorising the search, while the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has said it will meet with security operatives over the matter.
The search warrant was also quashed by an Abuja magistrate court.

“He affirmed the Force’s commitment to the safety and security of members of the judiciary and Nigerians in general,” according to the statement.
“He also urged calm, stating that the Force will do all in its ability to uncover the culprits and motivations behind the breach and bring all charged individuals to justice.”
