Nollywood mourns as veteran actor Columbus Irisoanga, known as ‘Igbudu,’ passes away. His death was announced by actress Hilda Dokubo

 

 

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Nigerian film industry has suffered another heartbreaking loss with the passing of veteran Nollywood actor Columbus Irisoanga, popularly known as ‘Igbudu.’

His death was announced by renowned actress and politician Hilda Dokubo in an emotional Instagram post.

Sharing the sad news, Dokubo expressed deep sorrow, stating that Irisoanga had “gone to be with the Lord.” She described his passing as a significant loss, not only to Nollywood but also to the University of Port Harcourt and Rivers State.

In her tribute, she wrote:

 “Our uncle Coli @colu_mbusirisoanga has gone to be with the Lord. Ikoli eh dein na mu.
 There can’t be a shortage of Angels in heaven that the few here are called home like this na! This one is heavy on Uniport, Rivers State, Nollywood.”

The veteran actor was widely respected for his contributions to the Nigerian film industry, with many fans remembering his iconic performances that left a lasting impact.

Irisoanga’s death comes just days after the passing of Nollywood actress Pat Ugwu, who died at the age of 35. The back-to-back losses have left the entertainment industry in mourning, with colleagues and fans expressing their condolences.

As tributes pour in, the Nollywood community reflects on the legacy of Columbus Irisoanga and the many roles that endeared him to audiences. His contributions to the industry will not be forgotten.
