Khadija Sanusi, a daughter of the dethroned emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, has urged followers on Twitter to stop sending her condolences.
Sanusi was dethroned by the governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Monday, March 9, over alleged disrespect for instructions from his office.
Tweeting after the dethronement, Sanusi’s daughter said: “Can you people please stop sending me ‘Innallillahi wa Inna ilayhir raji’un’ (from God we came, to God we shall return) and ‘my condolences’? We did not die.”
She revealed how she has also been the one consoling her friends after the dethronement of her father.
“Explain to me how I’ve been the one consoling my friends. I’m like ‘I’m sorry.’
“Allah ne yaso. Insha Allah hakan yaafi alheri. (That’s his God wants it to happen. By God’s grace, it will be for good.) Just expect an invoice because I’m charging for these therapy sessions,” she added.
According to reports, the tweets which the screenshot below have now been deleted by the dethroned monarch’s daughter.
