The Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, has demanded for the dismissal of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr.
In a statement on his official Facebook page, Kalu urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to fire Rohr due to his poor performance.
He claimed that Nigerian soccer fans do not need any more displeasure from Rohr, adding that he is not a good coach.
“In the previous five years, we’ve squandered our time in football,” Kalu stated We’re no longer doing anything novel.
It is distressing to watch a country with numerous professional players both at home and abroad trying to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations and World CupGernot Rohr is a bad coach, and I’m not sure why he’s still in charge of Super Eagles.
The Senator further revealed that Rohr had applied to become Enyimba’s coach when he was Governor but he denied him the opportunity.
“Oscar Udoji brought him to Nigeria, but I refused to hire him.”
“I am urging the NFF’s Chairman, Mr. Amaju Pinnick, to wake up and urgently find a successor for Rohr.”
We, soccer fans, don’t need any more discontent in a game; we have the ability to make ourselves proud.”
Kalu went on to say that if Rohr has the same difficulty coaching every year, he is not a leader.
“You’re more of an issue on your own that has to be fixed,” he continued.
This comes only two days after Nigeria drew 1-1 with Cape Verde in a World Cup qualifier in Lagos.
Rohr was appointed Super Eagles manager in 2016.
