A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Yunusa Adamu Dangwani, on Sunday has described the victory of Senator Ademola Adeleke, the newly Governor-elect under the platform of the party as well deserved.

Recall that Sen. Adeleke was declared winner of governorship election held in Osun State on Saturday, July 17, 2022.

In a release made available to Freelanews, the former Chief of Staff to Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso believed the victory was expected and a sign that given the right tools, the Nigerian election umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, can function diligently.

“On behalf of the PDP in Kano State and my humble self, I congratulate the governor elect in Osun State on the platform of our great party, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke. I’m not really surprised because I believed the stolen mandate has finally returned to its rightful owner.

“This is also a testament that the recent electoral reforms signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari, has started yielding fruits. As a result, it enabled INEC to ensure our sacred democracy is protected,” he stated.

The former Kano commissioner for Water Resources also congratulated the former Nigerian vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, while appealing to Nigerians to vote for the PDP at the general elections.

“I also want to use this opportunity to congratulate his Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for the victory recorded by our party in Osun State.

“More than anything, it’s an indication that better days are ahead and Nigerians should join the winning team that is fully charged to rescue the nation from the misrule of the APC for the past eight years,” Dr. Dangwani disclosed.

Senator Adeleke won 17 of the 30 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the Osun State governorship election to be beat the incumbent governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, who won in the remaining 13 LGAs.
