The Ogun State House of Assembly has issued an invitation to Alhaji Mutairu Owoeye, Ademola Owoeye, Garba Owoeye, Sina Oladunjoye, and Taoheed Bayo, Secretary of the Lasabi Family, concerning an alleged case of forcible occupation of landed properties in Obada-Oko, Ewekoro Local Government Area.
This summons follows complaints from twelve Community Development Associations (CDAs) in the affected region.

The announcement was made by Hon. Damilola Soneye, Chairman of the House Committee on Lands and Housing, during a joint committee meeting with the House Committees on Lands and Housing, Justice, Ethics, and Public Petitions.
The meeting, held at the Assembly Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, was attended by the petitioners led by Surveyor Bode Adeaga and Barrister Hafiz Ogabi, solicitor to Alhaji Mutairu Owoeye.
Hon. Soneye, along with ten other lawmakers, stated that the invitees are expected to appear before the lawmakers on Thursday, 11th July 2024, by 12 noon.
Failure to comply will result in the House declaring them wanted and enlisting security operatives to take further appropriate actions in line with the rule of law.
Addressing a group of protesters from Obada-Oko in Ewekoro, who visited the Assembly, the Speaker emphasised the need for the State Government to tackle the activities of land grabbers, explaining that other crimes were being committed under the guise of enforcing court orders on landed properties.
Hon. Elemide urged security agencies to stop providing illicit cover for land grabbers masquerading as land and estate developers and called for enhanced efforts to curb this menace, which has been causing unnecessary tension in communities across the State.
Chief Awopeju Saheed, the Baale Opelifa in Obada-Oko, alleged that residents of the affected communities have been experiencing attacks and threats from Alhaji Mutairu Owoeye and his group over their landed properties.
The petitioners urged the Assembly to take swift action to address the ongoing crisis and restore peace to their communities.
