Former President Donald Trump has expressed uncertainty about debating Vice President Kamala Harris, saying he “probably” will but also can “make a case for not doing it.”

In an interview with Fox News Channel, Trump was repeatedly asked if he would commit to debating Harris. While he initially showed eagerness to debate President Joe Biden during the previous election cycle, his stance shifted after Harris became the Democratic presidential candidate.

Trump has raised concerns about the original debate terms agreed upon with Biden. He suggested the September 10 debate on ABC News should be moved to a different network, accusing ABC of being “fake news.”

Last week, in a call with reporters, Trump affirmed his willingness to debate Harris, stating there was an obligation to do so. However, in a recent interview on July 29 with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Trump was more hesitant. “I want to do a debate. But I also can say this. Everybody knows who I am. And now people know who she is,” he said.

Trump eventually concluded, “The answer is yes, I’ll probably end up debating,” but added that any debates should occur before early voting starts in states. He reiterated, “The answer is yes, but I can also make a case for not doing it.”
