High-profile appointments span creative agencies, media publishers, and tech-driven platforms, underscoring a dynamic period in “adland.”

One of the most notable transitions sees Michael McEwan, formerly CEO of M+C Saatchi AUNZ, making a high-profile move to Droga5 to lead its Melbourne team.

McEwan’s tenure at M+C Saatchi was marked by securing major accounts and receiving prestigious industry accolades, including recognition at D&AD, Cannes Lions, The One Show, and Effies.

Production houses are also seeing new leadership, with Hannah Day departing Hogarth Australia, where she served as Executive Producer, to become Head of Production at Paper Moose.

Day brings extensive experience, having led production for major brands such as Suncorp Group, Vodafone, Subaru, and Nestlé.

In the realm of data and AI, Alberto Vergara has joined Zitcha as Head of Data and AI.

His new role will involve implementing predictive analytics, developing AI-powered recommendation engines, and creating autonomous optimisation tools, reflecting the growing importance of technology in advertising.

It’s hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we’ve made a list. Check out the biggest moves in adland from this week.

Publishing giant Are Media has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of Nisar Malik as Head of Sales, Victoria. He will be instrumental in executing the women’s lifestyle publisher’s omnichannel strategy.

Meanwhile, ASX-listed Vinyl Group has named Tahlia Phillips as Head of Publishing at Vinyl Media, following the company’s recent acquisition of Concrete Playground.

New roles are also emerging within agencies to address evolving market demands. The Pistol has created its first Head of Owned Channels position, appointing Tudor Stefanescu.

He will oversee the agency’s owned channel offerings, focusing on content, email automation, loyalty, and SEO.

Further consolidation and restructuring within major agency networks are evident with Lindsay Bennett joining Clemenger BBDO as Head of Brand & Communications.

This newly created role follows the integration of CHEP Network, Clemenger BBDO, and Traffik, aiming for streamlined brand communication.

In broader industry movements, former Seven West Media CEO James Warburton is returning to the sports sector, taking on the role of Chief Executive of the touring car racing championship, Supercars.

Additionally, Taboola is expanding its footprint in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region with the promotion of Shivani Pant, who brings 15 years of digital media experience and eight years as ANZ Director, Publisher Partnerships at the company.
