Kai Havertz Knee Surgery confirmed by Arsenal; midfielder out for weeks as recovery begins. Club optimistic about quick return following minor procedure

Kai Havertz Knee Surgery has been confirmed by Arsenal Football Club, with the midfielder undergoing a minor operation following a knee injury sustained earlier this month.

The club remains optimistic that the Germany international will return to action within weeks, not months.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Premier League side said:

“Today, Kai underwent a successful minor surgical procedure.

He will shortly begin his recovery and rehabilitation programme, with everyone fully focused on supporting Kai to ensure he is back to full fitness as soon as possible.”

The 26-year-old missed Arsenal’s 5–0 win over Leeds last weekend, after hurting his knee in the aftermath of their opening-weekend win against Manchester United on August 17.

Follow-up medical assessments concluded that surgery was necessary, though not serious.

Havertz’s absence comes at a tricky time for manager Mikel Arteta, who is already missing key players ahead of a high-stakes clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

Also sidelined are:

  • Bukayo Saka (hamstring)
  • Martin Ødegaard (ankle)
  • Gabriel Jesus (knee, long-term)
  • Christian Norgaard and Ben White (both doubtful)

Despite these setbacks, Arsenal’s recent signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace has offered hope.

The £60 million acquisition was unveiled at the Emirates and could make his debut against Liverpool on Sunday.

The Gunners, chasing their first Premier League title in 22 years, will need resilience and depth to stay on track during this challenging period.
