Hilda Baci Jollof Guinness Record attempt has officially begun, and this time, the celebrity chef is not only relying on culinary skill — she’s got spiritual backing too.

On Friday, moments before lighting the stove under what could become the world’s largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice, Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre, offered heartfelt prayers and encouragement to the record-breaking chef.
The scene unfolded at Eko Hotels & Suites, where thousands gathered to witness Baci’s second Guinness World Record attempt.
This time, she’s aiming to cook a staggering 250 bags of rice in a custom-built pot measuring six metres in height and width — a centrepiece of the ongoing Gino Jollof Festival.
Pastor Bolaji’s presence was met with cheer as he prayed publicly for strength, favour, and success for Baci, blessing not just the food but the entire endeavour.
His support added a powerful spiritual touch to the high-energy, highly anticipated event.
Baci, who shot to international fame in 2023 with her Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, said she’s determined to make this moment “unforgettable.”
“We’re cooking something truly massive and meaningful — and it’s going to be amazing and hygienic,” she assured fans.
The event, held in partnership with her culinary brand and Gino, has already seen over 20,000 registrations, with tens of thousands expected to attend.
Entry is free, and the atmosphere is festive, with live entertainment, food distribution, and a celebration of Nigerian culinary pride.
