Veteran actor and filmmaker Jide Kosoko has announced that his latest historical film, Eleko (Oba Esugbayi), grossed about ₦18.3 million during its opening weekend in Nigerian cinemas.
The Eleko Jide Kosoko box office ₦18.3m performance was shared by the actor on his Instagram page, where he expressed gratitude to fans for their support.

Kosoko thanked movie lovers across the country for showing up in cinemas and described the response as encouraging for the production team.
Eleko (Oba Esugbayi) premiered in cinemas on March 20 and continues to screen nationwide.
The film tells the historical story of Oba Esugbayi Eleko, a Lagos monarch known for resisting British colonial authority in the early 20th century.
The project was produced under Jide Kosoko Film Presentation and directed by Adebayo Tijani, Babatunde Kosoko, and Tunde Olaoye, with distribution handled by Genesis Pictures.
