Edo’s governor declares a certain Tinubu win in Edo for 2027, staking his job and dismissing opposition during a bold TV interview

In a striking declaration during a televised interview on Monday, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholor insisted that a Tinubu win Edo in 2027 is not only predictable but inevitable.

Speaking on TVC, the governor asserted that the All Progressives Congress remains firmly rooted in the state, leaving little room, he said, for any meaningful opposition.

Okpebholor, who has overseen several infrastructure and development projects since the APC assumed power in Edo, claimed residents are increasingly aligning themselves with President Bola Tinubu.

He described the political atmosphere as overwhelmingly favourable, adding that the party is ambitiously targeting 3.5 million votes in the forthcoming election.

The governor offered a powerful remark that immediately captured national attention, stating that Tinubu enjoys even greater popularity in the state than he does.

He declared that if the President fails to secure victory in Edo, he would resign, underscoring what he called the unshakeable confidence of the people.

According to Okpebholor, the administration’s performance has already cemented public loyalty.

He maintained that Edo voters have felt the benefits of APC governance and are primed to respond at the ballot box with a formidable show of support.

Despite his certainty, political observers note that the dynamics of the 2027 race remain fluid.

However, the governor’s emphatic tone suggests he views the outcome as all but written, setting a decisive narrative ahead of the campaign season.
