Governor Ademola Adeleke secures Adeleke Accord Party clearance as the sole aspirant for the 2026 Osun governorship primary after screening in Osogbo

Governor Ademola Adeleke secured Adeleke Accord Party clearance on Wednesday in Osogbo after the party’s screening committee approved his participation in the 2026 governorship primary.

The chairman of the screening committee and national organising secretary, Ibe Thankgod, announced the decision after confirming that Governor Adeleke met all nomination and documentation requirements for the process.

He said the committee screened the governor thoroughly before presenting a certificate of clearance to him as the party’s sole aspirant.

Ibe Thankgod described Governor Adeleke as a credible contender whose entry strengthened the party’s preparations for the coming election.

He said the committee concluded all filings with relevant bodies and found no issues affecting his eligibility.

Governor Adeleke expressed appreciation to the committee and the Accord Party leadership for the approval.

He said he was ready to lead the party into the primary and the general election and added that he remained confident of a victorious outing.

His remarks drew warm reactions from supporters who attended the brief ceremony.

The governor defected to the Accord Party after resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party on December 2.

He said he joined the new platform more than a month earlier to pursue his re-election bid without distractions.
