The Nigerian Army has opened applications for DSSC 29/2026 recruitment, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for officer commissions online
The Nigerian Army on Tuesday announced the commencement of applications for the Direct Short Service Commission Course 29/2026, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for commissioning as officers.

The announcement was made in a statement published on the Nigerian Army’s official X platform, confirming that the recruitment exercise is open to both civilians and serving military personnel with relevant professional qualifications.
According to the statement, successful applicants will be commissioned into specialised corps of the Nigerian Army to strengthen national defence and security operations.
The available corps include the Nigerian Army Engineers, Nigerian Army Signals, Nigerian Army Medical Corps, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and the Nigerian Army Education Corps.
The Army clarified that applications are free of charge and must be completed online through the official recruitment portal.
The application window opens on January 7 and closes on February 4, 2026.
Applicants were advised to apply early and ensure that all required information is correctly provided during the process.
