The session brought together APC national leadership, governors, and the party’s National Assembly caucus. Attendees included Senate President Godswill Akpabio; Nigerian Governors Forum Chairman AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; Progressive Governors Forum Chairman Hope Uzodimma; Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin; House Majority Leader Prof. Julius Ihonvbere; House Chief Whip Usman Bello Kumo; Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila; and APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Bashiru.

Speaking after the engagement, APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda described the meeting as brief but productive, emphasising the focus on aligning preparations and ensuring cohesion among all party structures and government arms.

“It was a brief meeting to review our preparations for the convention and congresses and to strengthen synergy between all arms of government. We want the national, sub-national and National Assembly segments to be on the same page, and I believe we achieved our objectives,” Yilwatda said.

He noted the party’s rapid expansion, citing the influx of new members, governors, and lawmakers, and highlighted the importance of inclusivity amid growth.

“The party is expanding every day. We are growing beyond bounds, and we want to ensure that in the course of this growth, nobody is left behind,” he added.

Yilwatda also praised President Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a highly experienced politician whose guidance continues to drive the APC’s growth and strategic direction.
