Minister Adebayo Adelabu has apologised to Nigerians over poor electricity supply, promising improvements amid ongoing nationwide power outages

The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has apologized to Nigerians over the ongoing nationwide power outages affecting homes and businesses.

The Adelabu apology over power supply in Nigeria comes amid worsening electricity shortages and concerns about a possible broader blackout.

The Minister assured citizens that the federal government is implementing urgent measures aimed at improving electricity supply in the coming weeks.

He said Nigerians should expect noticeable improvements soon as efforts intensify to stabilise the national grid.

The apology follows persistent epileptic power supply across the country, which has disrupted economic activities and daily life.

Reports indicate that gas suppliers have reduced supply to thermal power plants, leading to a decline in electricity generation nationwide.

The situation has forced several power plants to shut down due to inadequate gas availability.

Earlier updates from the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) confirmed a sharp drop in electricity generation on the national grid.

The operator noted that the available power output had fallen below expected capacity due to ongoing gas supply constraints.

Energy stakeholders have repeatedly warned that without urgent intervention, the situation could worsen further.

The Minister’s apology is seen as a response to growing public frustration over the continued instability in electricity supply across the country.

Authorities have pledged to work with stakeholders in the power and gas sectors to address the supply challenges.

Further updates are expected as government efforts to restore stable electricity continue.
