In a video shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Kunle Remi expressed frustration over the soaring cost of petrol and persistent electricity shortages, noting that the situation has taken a toll on his mental well-being.

The Kunle Remi fuel crisis criticism reflects wider public concern about the cost of living and energy challenges across the country.

The actor rejected the common stance of avoiding political discussions, calling it “the most stupid statement” in the current climate.

He urged Nigerians to engage actively in conversations about governance and national development, stressing that neutrality is no longer practical.

Highlighting personal experience, Kunle Remi revealed that he recently spent over one million naira on petrol due to prolonged power outages, forcing continuous reliance on generators in his Lagos residence.

He added that the financial strain extends beyond households to businesses struggling with high diesel and petrol costs.

The Kunle Remi fuel crisis criticism also touched on the broader economic impact, as the actor noted that rising transport fares have significantly reduced the purchasing power of workers, including his own staff who now find commuting increasingly difficult.

He further questioned why Nigeria, despite being an oil-producing nation, remains highly vulnerable to global shocks, including geopolitical tensions affecting fuel prices.

The actor described the situation as troubling, pointing to underperforming refineries and systemic challenges in the energy sector.

Observers say the remarks underscore a growing willingness among public figures to speak candidly about economic pressures, adding momentum to ongoing national conversations about policy, accountability, and sustainable solutions.
